20-Hour Thai Professional Ethics and Culture Course

It is now mandatory for all foreigners that wish to teach in Thailand take this course. There are no exceptions! The purpose of this course is to familiarize one with the general “ins and outs” of the Thai culture, and how to apply it in and out of the classroom. This class is a wonderful insight to the Thai lifestyle and customs, and after having taken it you will be glad you did. One must have the certificate of completion before the Ministry of Education will issue a teacher’s license or a work permit.

At this time there are very few places to take this course, and about half of them at this time are universities.

“The Teacher and Educational Personnel Council Act (BE 2546) stipulates that teacher profession shall be a regulated and licenced profession.
Thailand’s Teacher Council created the training program to equip foreign teachers teaching in schools in Thailand with knowledge and understanding of Thai culture and teacher professional code of ethics…Thus teaching as a licensed profession shall guarentee and provide protection for the public to obtain quality education as well as to develop and upgrade the teaching professional standards in the country”
